#drum is less busy that #afp, both in terms of
the numbers of people on the channel and the volume of the conversation. The
regulars on the channel tend to stay put for longer periods than #afpers too
so there are fewer hellos and goodbyes. The comings and goings don't in general
generate a lot of *hugs* either.
#drum is the home of the 'geekier' types on lspace IRC -- and this is
not intended as a derogatory term. The regulars tend to be Information
Systems professionals and the topics of conversation stray way into
the technical. Help on technical issues can usually be got here if it hasn't
been forthcoming on #afp and if you ask nicely.
Here, like #afp, pop-ups, colours, sounds and IRCisms are extremely
unwelcome.
The channel has no ops, but the regulars here are easily able to deal with
trolls and nuisances even so.
